There are many occasions when the fact of managing a specialized shoe store, the in-depth study of each and every shoe model that provides some special peculiarity manufactured to an end beyond the mere aesthetic, gives you great information that you can transmit to each of your customers.

But there are also many occasions when customers teach you new needs that a priori did not know.

Throughout our trajectory we have seen in store and online counseling hundreds of patients who told us their cases and a very repeated one, was and is, the important number of women who, after undergoing chemotherapy treatments for the treatment of breast cancer, began to have various problems in their feet. Those who tell us about everything are nail problems, hypersensitivity that all tell us the same way, as something very difficult to describe, but that nothing touching them on their fingers already causes them pain and a very nasty feeling, hardness, dryness and cracks on the skin and generalized pain on the feet many times.

Evidently it is not a mere coincidence, and looking for information about it, we find an article of “Medical Reaction”, published on December 15, 2017, which explains to us, that “a study by the University of Extremadura shows that 95 percent of women with breast cancer under chemotherapy present problems at their feet after treatment began. The most frequent alterations they present are nail abnormalities (46%), generalized pain (36%), cracks and dryness (20%), paresthesia (19%), inflammation (10%), varices (8%), deformed fingers (7%), helomas and hardness (4%).

In addition, this study notes that “feet health can be essential for the well-being and quality of life of women with breast cancer.”. This study shows that these foot problems result in a worse quality of life and emphasizes that proper foot care is essential to prevent the occurrence of injuries, pain and infections and deformities during the chemotherapy process.

The work evaluated the symptoms that appeared at the feet of women with breast cancer under chemotherapy and compared the results with the health analysis of healthy women.

Our experience with our customers teaches us that footwear can be a great ally in improving the quality of life in this specific situation.

We're looking for models with a wide horma, that contribute a extra in comfort, made in top quality materials, with low wedges and templates with very good cushioning. The experience of our customers makes us delight in models entirely lined in leather with all types of seams protected or models already manufactured for diabetic foot, in widths that are not excessive.

They are mainly looking for an extra space that allows the mobility of the fingers, without friction.

Sports shoes with special width, very light and good cushioning are also very demanded.
